Monday, August 1: Outsourcing Utah

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, UT – Kimberly Clark's Ballard Medical announced this week that it will phase out over 750 jobs in Draper and Pocatello, moving them to Mexico. Outsourcing proponents argue that competition is good for consumers and for the American economy, but what will the shift mean for workers who lose their job? Opponents point out the heavy impact on outsourcing has on individual lives and on communities. RadioWest talks to economist Devon Herrick of the National Center for Policy Analysis and with Ron Hira, author of "Outsourcing America."
