5/30/07: Presidential Courage

Presidential Historian Michael Beschloss
Presidential Historian Michael Beschloss

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, UT – President Andrew Jackson once said, "I was born for the storm; the calm does not suit me." The office of the President of the United States may indeed require a particular personality, but the leaders who have stood out have done so for their courage. George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan may not have been saints, but they each took certain political risks in order to make difficult changes. Presidential historian Michael Beschloss is with us to talk about these complex men, and their impact on our history.
