Salt Lake City, Utah – Utah is one of 30 states proposing legislation to oppose federal health care reform. Republican Carl Wimmer's bill has passed the Utah House and is now making its way through the Senate. It would require legislative approval of any federal health bill - including expansions of Medicaid and CHIP. Many see it as political theater, but health care advocates worry it may influence other decisions on low-income programs. Monday, we'll sort through the politics and the policies of "opting out."
