Salt Lake City, Utah – Abused and neglected animals used to be the problem of the local Humane Society, not law enforcement or psychologists. But that's changing. High profile cases such as the 2007 arrest of NFL star Michael Vick on dog-fighting charges and growing research showing a link between animal cruelty and human abuse is prompting public outcry and tougher laws. Monday, join guest host Jennifer Napier-Pearce for a discussion about animal cruelty and what it reveals about aggression and empathy.

Read Charles Siebert's The Animal-Cruelty Syndrome in the New York Times.
