Salt Lake City, Utah – When Secretary of State George Shultz took office in 1982, America faced many diplomatic crises. The USSR had nuclear weapons aimed at the United States and our allies, the Middle East was engulfed in violence, and Contra rebels were in civil war against the Sandinistas in Nicaragua. In a new PBS documentary, filmmaker David deVries chronicles "The George Shultz Years." Wednesday, deVries and historian Richard Reeves join us to talk about Shultz's role in the transformation of world politics.
Turmoil and Triumph: The George Shultz Years continues Monday, July 19 and Monday, July 26th. Click here to learn more.
