Salt Lake City, Utah – In his latest book, the linguist David Crystal points out that languages are constantly in flux. That's obvious reading Shakespeare's 400-year-old plays, but consider "tweeting" or spelling "great" with the number 8. It's only been the last few years these make any sense at all. Hundreds of new words are introduced every year, grammar morphs and even pronunciation changes. Thursday, Crystal joins Doug for a conversation about language - where it's been and where we'll take it next.
