Salt Lake City, UT – Lawmakers on Utah's Capitol Hill yesterday took up ethics reform, pay cuts, and a bill requiring a taxpayer funded economic analysis for any bill relating to climate change - but - not for nuclear power. But first - Utah lawmakers have approved spending $8.5 billion to keep state government running beginning July 1. Another $2.1 billion dollar bill for public education spending was approved by House lawmakers. That means a 6 percent cut for public schools and 9 percent for the state's colleges and universities. KUER's Jenny Brundin reports.
