Salt Lake City, UT – Like most of us, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts has been battered by the rough economy. In 2008, its "Monet to Picasso" exhibit drew a record 80,000 visitors, but by mid-2009, the museum was forced to lay off three of its 15 workers. Now the museum has a new director, Gretchen Dietrich, who has spent the past 20 years working in art museums across the country. She spoke with KUER's Jennifer Napier-Pearce about her vision for the road ahead.
