Salt Lake City, UT – This weekend through January 4th across Utah, birders grab will grab their binoculars for the Audubon Society's annual Christmas Bird Count. The survey - one day in each location - helps scientists understand where conservation action is needed, and where there are success stories. One person who knows where to find birds is Rosalie Winard. The acclaimed photographer is author of the "Wild Birds of the American Wetlands." Winard plans to move to Utah in January. She's raising funds to create the first comprehensive photographic archive of the birds of the Great Salt Lake. KUER's Jenny Brundin has this profile.
