Salt Lake City, UT – Through July, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts is hosting The Smithson Effect, an exhibition of artists influenced by Robert Smithson. He was the creator of the massive earth work, The Spiral Jetty that sweeping curve of piled rocks in the Great Salt Lake. A year after his death in 1974, Smithson's widow Nancy Holt created her own earth work - four concrete tubes laid in the shape of an "X" in Utah's west desert. KUER's Jenny Brundin traveled to the "Sun Tunnels"with artist and teacher Hikmet Loe. to learn more about the land art movement.
