There are different levels of participation, but under the Task Force Model, certain deputies have the power to enforce some immigration laws. Only four sheriff’s departments in Utah have signed that specific type of 287(g) agreement.

The Utah Department of Transportation and the Utah Department of Public Safety work together to keep roads free of debris, but state officials are reminding people to properly secure their loads before driving.

UDOT is working to make the road safer, but they need drivers to accept responsibility.

Community members and transportation experts said the increase in injuries and fatalities stems from prioritizing cars over people.
