All four Republican incumbents — Blake Moore, Chris Stewart, John Burtis and Burgess Owens — easily defeated their party challengers in the June GOP primary. Utah is a reliably conservative state, so political watchers aren't expecting Election Day fireworks. A race to keep an eye on might be the 4th Congressional District. Incumbent Rep. Burgess Owens caused a stir in both the primary and the run-up to the general election by choosing not to face his opponents in organized debates (a trend seen nationally). After some outcry, Owens faced his Democratic challenger, Darlene McDonald, in a campaign-organized debate that wasn't televised.
Polls in Utah close at 8 p.m. Mountain. KUER, like NPR, relies on race calls from The Associated Press.
