Bluff Arts Festival

KUER will be participating in three days of the Bluff Arts Festival, from October 17 - 20. Bring your lawn chair and hear a radio essay from the late Ellen Meloy at the Riverside Storytelling Festival; see the RadioWest film DARK SKIES at the Bluff Film Festival; or stop by our booth at the artisan market for a high-five and to meet reporter Kate Groetzinger who is running our southeast Utah bureau.

  • Thursday, October 17 | 7 p.m. | Recapture Lodge — Grab a lawn chair or blanket and follow the half-mile long torch-lit path to the river behind Recapture Lodge to listen to selected authors from the Ellen Meloy Desert Fund for Writers. KUER will play a selection from Meloy's "Desert Sketches" a collection of radio essays recorded for the station.

  • Friday, October 18 | 7 p.m. | Bluff Community Center — The goal of the film festival is to highlight relevant and powerful topics that impact the four corners region. We’ll do this by drawing upon the region’s talented film producers. Seating is limited and tickets can be purchased online to expedite entry; remaining tickets will be sold at the door. The price will be $10 per adult and free for kids, with snacks available for purchase. KUER will screen the original RadioWest short film, DARK SKIES.

  • Saturday, October 19 | 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Bluff Community Center —Stop by the KUER booth at the vendor market to participate in a children's microphone craft, pick up some stickers and KUER swag, and meet Kate Groetzinger, our new reporter stationed in southeast Utah.
KUER is listener-supported public radio. Support this work by making a donation today.
