In order to support the confidence and mental health of immigrant students, peer support specialists from Latino Behavioral Health Services are in the halls and classroom of Ogden High and Mound Fort Junior High.

Ogden is one of three districts in the state where Hispanic students graduate at an equal or greater rate than their caucasian counterparts.

Playing in the marching band means being part of a team. “We don't act as a single person. We don't think of just ourselves,” said sophomore Lucy Walker.

The resource center at Odyssey Elementary School in Ogden helps families meet their basic needs so they can address other priorities, like mental health and education.

Reading, writing and arithmetic will always be important in K-12 education. But sitting in class for six hours a day doesn’t always keep students interested. One thing that might? Job training.

Since 2020, K-12 students across the country have been able to get school meals for free. That federal program ended this school year, but some people want to keep it going.

Officials hope the new school will make it easier for more students to take college courses while still in high school.
